RECORDING A LAND RECORD

Vermont records all Land Records by Town or City; there is no county recording system in Vermont. The Town of Jericho is located in Chittenden County. The Jericho Town Clerk’s office serves the public by recording important documents such as mortgages, deeds, liens and maps by use of our ACS indexing and imaging system and storing them in the Town Vault.

The State of Vermont has established the following recording fees:

All documents to be recorded                                           $10.00 per page

Plat maps                                                                     $15.00 per map
**The Largest map we are able to store is 18 x 24.
 
UCC’s                                                                           $35.00 flat fee for UCC filing, additional $10 per page to record in the land records
 
Vermont Property Tax Transfers                                        $10.00 per form
**All deeds conveying property (even if no money is exchanged) must have a Vermont Property Transfer Tax Return. Vermont State Tax Department 802-828-2542.
 
All Land Records are public record and available to be copied for $1.00 per page
